A friend of mine got me to look into Warhammer. I have been an avid gamer for years, and knew “of” Warhammer but never really checked into it. It launched when WoW’s Wrath of the Lich King released so it was very under the radar.

I must say though, that the game is absolutely great! It is a “in your face” straight up PvP MMO, and it really appeals to me. There are no overpowered classes, there is no “wait until this run is over dear and I will help you”, it’s a game purely at your pace.
There are open groups, which you can join and leave at any given moment, open pvp and it’s solely Realm vs Realm.

To compare it WoW: WoW is a beginner MMO. It’s a great game, very polished, easy to learn… but not challenging. Warhammer is rugged, tough and where Orcs actually look like Orcs! Not some nice-pretty (good) bad guy. It’s Order vs Chaos, good vs bad, not an “inbetween” like the Horde is on WoW.
Warhammer did enable an “Endless Trial”, so you can play for free-forever. But it caps at level 10. So you still get a great feel for the game, plenty of ORvR (Open Realm vs Realm) and decent enough gear to go toe to toe with anyone.

I must say I was skeptical at first, but after playing it a bit, I’m hooked.
